The 8th Annual Agroforestry Symposium, Enhancing Health, Conservation and Livelihoods: Medicinal Plants in Agroforestry, will be held:
8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
January 26, 2017
Bond Life Sciences Center at the University of Missouri
This event is hosted by the Center for Agroforestry at the University of Missouri (UMCA).
The symposium is free and open to the public; advanced registration is requested.
UMCA, established in 1998, is one the world's leading centers contributing to the science underlying integrated practices of agroforestry. These practices enhance land and aquatic habitats and improve biodiversity while sustaining land resources for generations to come. The major goal of the MU Center for Agroforestry is to support the long-term future of the family farm and forests by achieving economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
Each year in January, the Center for Agroforestry hosts the Agroforestry Symposium, an opportunity to bring together leading researchers and practitioners to explore in depth and showcase a compelling agroforestry related theme.
This year's theme is Enhancing Health, Conservation and Livelihoods: Medicinal Plants in Agroforestry. The primary sponsor is Mountain Rose Herbs; other sponsors include Forrest Keeling Nursery, United Plant Savers, GrowNative!, Herb Pharm, American Herbal Products Association, Finca Luna Nueva, The Carbon Underground, Mizzou Botanic Garden and Gaia Herbs.
